Exit Tickets, Warm-Ups, and Checks for Understanding

M-7

Session Description

Checking for student understanding does not have to always come in the form of a test or a quiz. This session will focus on ways to informally assess your students through the use of exit tickets, warm-ups, and impromptu checks for understanding in non and tech-infused ways.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the sessions participants will know / be able to:
  1. Use entry and exit tickets to gauge student understanding of lessons
  2. Allow opportunities for other methods to demonstrate knowledge versus simply using tests
  3. Integrate choice boards, project-based learning, hands-on learning, etc. to check for understanding
