This session will let you explore how to start conversations with parents of the students you teach. Come learn how to use Remind, Smore, Class Dojo, SeeSaw, Google Voice, Blogs, Calendly, and other tools to reach parents where they are in the 21st century.
Learner Outcomes
By the end of the sessions participants will know / be able to:
Improve parent communication by meeting parents and students in the ways they are familiar
Make communication between teacher and parent more accessible
Participants will be divided into groups and will be asked to rotate every twelve minutes or so.
This station will be led by one of the facilitators of the session who will go through the different ways to increase student communication. Here are a few of the tools:
Move in stations to look at the different types of digital outreach. The first station is Parent communication in which we discuss Class Dojo, Remind, Google Voice, Google Forms, and Boomerang.
This station will meet one on one with a facilitator to talk about each of these tools. Directions are provided on the slideshow so a teacher can build any of these at their own time.
Station 2: Updating Websites

This station will be self-led. Participants will watch a video that gives them directions and a quick walkthrough of the tools. Here are a few of the tools:
