Session Description

What technology resources are effective for students with significant cognitive, language, visual, and/or motor impairments?
What tech resources have you used that you want other EC teachers to know about?
How can you incorporate technology into your special needs classroom?

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the sessions participants will know / be able to: 
  1. Explain some of the special challenges of using technology with students with significant cognitive, behavior, motor, and/or/ vision impairments.
  2. Identify some of the technology resources that are accessible for students with significant disabilities
  3. Learn how to incorporate more technology into the special education classroom to enhance instruction

Activity 1:

Discuss the challenges you have experienced in working with students with significant disabilities as it relates to educational technology.

Activity 2:

Explore some of the resources that other MGSD special education teachers have successfully used with their students to circumvent these challenges.

Activity 3: 

Choose one tech resource that you’ve learned about today and develop a lesson plan for your students using that resource.
