Differentiating in Blackboard

Session Description

How do you use Blackboard to differentiate? How do you allow for student choice in Blackboard assignments? How do you adjust the gradebook for differentiation? (if your classes are merged then all of your assignments show up so there are several work arounds for this.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the sessions participants will know / be able to: 
  1. Create groups in Blackboard
  2. Assign content to specific groups 
  3. Manage gradebook to assist in differentiation

Activity 1:

Participants will experience what it is like to be a student in a differentiated Blackboard Classroom learning multiplication.

Activity 2:

Intro / discussion about ways to use Blackboard to differentiate (Presentation / Padlet interaction)

Activity 3: 

Participants will be given the choice of how to learn groups, users and advanced settings in Blackboard to differentiate. This information will be available for them to reference later in the year.
